Nicole Locorriere, LMFT
I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist (lic #37FI00208500) in the state of New Jersey. For the past few years I’ve been working in private practice helping individuals and couples understand the impact of their context on their problems. Essentially, I ask “what has happened to you?” rather than “what is wrong with you?” Here’s a quick highlight reel of my professional experience:
Owner of Prologue Therapy & Relationship Counseling
The only certified Discernment Counselor in Hunterdon County
Level 2 Gottman Method couples therapy certificate
Certified telehealth provider (CTMH)
Trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seton Hall University
B.A. in Psychology from West Chester University

I believe every person has the ability to write their own story and deserves to be heard and respected without judgment. My ideal client is looking to learn healthy ways to cope with difficult situations and the related emotions, and to communicate with others to strengthen/build their support system.
I tell my clients often that anxiety, depression, and traumatic experiences can change how we view life, like a filter, which can hide our strengths. Throughout our sessions, I will assist you in gaining insights into what thoughts and emotions contribute to this filter, so we can work together and help you view life with a balanced perspective and awareness of your strengths.
I have been in the mental health field since 2016 and have experience in psychiatric, substance abuse, and private practice settings working with adolescents and adults. I utilize a tailored approach with clients to suit their needs and I am trained in cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapies.
