How are you holding up?

We go to our medical doctors once a year for a checkup, just to make sure everything is running smoothly. It’s high time we normalize doing this for our mental health as well. Especially in the current state of the world, it certainly can’t hurt to have a professional check-in once in a while.

Prologue’s mental wellness checkup is a single session during which we complete a series of assessments in a casual, interview style. You’ll learn if you’re exhibiting signs of the following:

  • depression
  • anxiety
  • trauma
  • substance abuse
  • unhealthy relational patterns
  • poor or unhealthy coping skills

You’ll also complete a strengths assessment. At the end, we’ll talk about recommendations for treatment, or self-care methods at home.

Nope! One session isn’t enough time with you to get a full picture of who you are. There also may be certain circumstances in your life bringing out certain symptoms and unhealthy coping skills that don’t define you, and I don’t want you to end up boxed in by a diagnosis that may not be relevant in the future. I will simply be giving you my clinical impressions of your symptoms and how best to handle them.

Not necessarily! I would certainly love to work with you, but we’re testing for a wide variety of concerns; some that I’m not an expert in treating myself (i.e. active substance abuse). In those cases, I provide referrals to other therapists who better suit your needs. We also may find that you’re doing just fine on your own, and that you don’t need ongoing treatment at all.
