These local businesses are not only making waves in their respective industries, but also working hard to make our community a better place to live and work.

Flemington DIY– a community arts space that hosts events for all ages and interests. Check their schedule to find out when they have different bands, fiber art groups, poetry nights, comedy shows, resource fairs, and more. Everything is donation based for accessibility purposes.

Alkemy Coffee Co– a coffee shop, but also a gathering place for anyone interested in wellness. They host workshops on topics like herbalism, nutrition, as well as open mic nights and other events.

The Corner– the owners of this shop and its neighbor La Petite Ruelle are highly invested in the growth and revitalization of historic Flemington. They host town cleanups, share about town history, and support small businesses .

Defiant Hair– a hair salon in Flemington dedicated to inclusivity for the LGBTQ+ community as well as environmental sustainability. Check out their “Community” page of their website for more info.

You may be surprised to find that there are hundreds of apps to aid in self-care and the maintenance of our mental health. While these apps don’t take the place of a trained professional with whom you have an established relationship, these resources can support your journey.

Gottman Card Decks— sets of virtual “cards” that help couples build their friendship, connection, and spice! You can also purchase physical cards

Betwixt— a fantasy choose-your-own-adventure game that helps users build self-awareness and emotion regulation skills

Calm— you’ve probably seen the soothing commercials for this one; it helps users sleep and increase mindfulness

Fayr— a co-parenting app that helps users effectively parent their children together even when they are no longer in a romantic relationship. It helps track expenses, messages, and time with kids.

HarmLess– an app to help users manage and decrease their desire to self-harm. It includes a tracker as well as meditations and other helpful ways to mitigate triggers.

Little Free Library— a map of stops all across the country to find free books. A really wonderful initiative to make reading accessible to all
